Artist statement

As an artist I aspire

to marry the images

from the realm of

my imagination

with the words

that flock my mind,

often making

a spectacle of myself

as I occupy territories

where the personal

becomes political.

I revel in

questioning hierarchies,

queering traditions,

remixing reality into

something with meaning;

a vision of a world

I want to live in,

structured on

equity, empathy,

fairness and inclusion.

With a background

in live art and

visual communication,

I stage performance

through alternative media,

video, writing,

self-publishing,

collage and more,

as I seek to

amplify its reach.

I am a contradiction,

a fool, a failure,

wielding the power

of humour to critique

systems of power,

and to break down

barriers between people

by creating connections,

which ask us to reimagine

the ways in which

we love and respect

others and ourselves.
