Automatic Collages , 2012-13, Mixed Media Collage
A series of collages crafted using a Surrealist automatic process: Providing myself with a plethora of drawings, textiles and personal photographs, I created spontaneous imagery.
The resulting images seem to allow the viewer to uncover unconscious motifs that influenced my image-making. This is based on the Surrealist belief that automatic processes explicate one's repressed emotions and offer a portrait of the artist's mind.
